Travel and Accommodation
The Euro-Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is very well-connected with all major cities in Europe. From there, two bus lines (Nos. 30 and 50) run into town approximately every 15 minutes. Travel time is 
approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, you may fly into Zurich and take a train to Basel. Travel time on the train is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes.
Basel is a city with a historic city center and many well known museums such as the Kunstmuseum, the Beyeler Museum, Museum of modern art, or the Tinguely-Museum. We have booked accommodation between April 28 and May 3, 2005 at three hotels for a special rate:

Hotel Spalentor is situated in close proximity of the conference venue (2 minutes walking distance).

Hotel Basel is situated right in the city center, a mere 2 minutes walk from the SSEF laboratory, and a 10 minutes walk to the conference venue.

The hotel au violon used to be Basel's prison and is situated in a pittoresque spot just above the city center. Walking distance to the University is about 10-15 minutes. Please note that in this hotel, only 8 rooms are reserved. The two double rooms in cat.B overlook Basel.
