Dr. Emmanuel Fritsch is currently professor of physics in the Continuing Education department of the University of Nantes in western France. He is responsible for an advnaced gemology degree which has gain worldwide reputation for forming laboratory gemologists. He specializes in research on gem materials, currently the two main themes are the structure and stability of opal, in particular lesser known CT opals of gemological interest, and diamonds, in particular colored diamonds, with current topics on brown and black diamonds.
